Atley has done beautifully with the transition of becoming a big sister. She has to be the sweetest sibling ever! (She does have her toddler moments but mainly, I have to ask her to stop kissing and hugging Lively so much!) We cannot wait to watch them play together. Lively already stares in awe at her sister and her wild imagination!

Stats: 36 inches and 30 pounds. Although I'll admit, I measured her 2 months ago--soooo, odds are she's a bit taller! Atley is now wearing a size 10 shoe and we have been purchasing size 4 clothing (there is a little room to grow but you'd never know it was that size!). All of her size 3 pants are definitely snug! She is going to have the tall girl pant problems, for sure! Most days she still chooses to rotate through her princess dresses--we have had to limit her to 2 changes per day--it was becoming an all day ordeal! We love that she has such a vivid mind to want to play different characters--perhaps an actress in the making?! The occasional cape is still worn but lately it's been her 'wedding cloak' (veil).

Favorite Words and Other Milestones:
Atley is extremely verbal--so this should probably start to refer to Atley's favorite phrases, conversations and debates! Some days, I feel like I have a much older child (and then she does something like reach in her diaper and I am reminded she is only 2! ha!) I have been keeping a journal on my phone of the funny and cute things she has said. Some of them, she repeats often, others, it's one time thing that I feel blessed to have been able to hear! As far as milestones, Atley is very good at most things active! She scooters so fast we have to run with her, she jumps, flips, rolls and wants to skateboard. She is officially a toddler and is all over everything! I love keeping notes of her fun moments. Here is my latest collection:
June:
-when being offered bell peppers she asked, "Can it ring?"
-starts all phrases with, "Well..."
-continues to ask, "Why do we have to nap?"
May:
-calls high heels 'clicky clacks'
-when asked to do something she replies, "a better choice would be..."
April:
-when told she could play the iPad for a little bit she replied, "Oh, that's wonderful!"
-"Georgie woke me up!" (in reference to her toddler alarm clock)
-continues to show Lively off, "This is my sister!"
-"Are you suuuuure? Absolutely, positively!"
-Atley has started to say, "Ok, here's the plan"...(hands in the air and begins to list ideas of what to do next)
-whenever Lively has a noisy diaper she stops, looks, laughs and says, "Woah, Lively!"
March:
-Atley made a sweet birthday card for the neighbor's helper, Josephine, and also wanted to wrap a present for her--a small decoration pumpkin!
-runs through house yelling, "Daddy's coming!"
-while almost falling off bed, "Uh oh, I'm goin' down!"
-whenever she's asked to do something she likes she replies, 'Yes, I would love to!"
February:
-everytime she enters the house yells hello to everyone home!
-even 2 weeks after bringing Lively home she still saws, "Awwww look at her!" all day long!
-when discussing which friends of mom and dad's might come to breakfast, dad said Fabian might come, Atley gasped and said, "Fabian! It's been awhile!"
-Atley was offering bites of her food around the table and asked if dad's tattoos wanted a bite
-You're such a wonderful friend to have, Mom!"
-I'm so disappointed in this water!"
January:
-wants to play with the ladies and gentlemens
-to Taylor, "Careful dad, there's a puddle!"
-to Mila, "Mila will you have coffee or tea this morning? Mila says neither so Atley says, "Yeah just drink water, it's good for you!"
-mom said, "I heard you had a long nap," Atley said, "Yes, I slept very well, I feel much better!"
-started phrases with "so"
-to dad after he told a story,"So you were scared?"
-to dad, "So how was your work?"
-after falling off the edge of the couch, Atley was watching Cars with mom and dad and the car drove off the road...she gasped and said, "Just like Atley!"

Atley seems to have joined the toddler ranks of picky eating--although, sometimes she surprises us! One night she asked Taylor, "Where's the beef?" She would much rather eat a hunk of meat over bread, anyday! So funny! She loves cubed cheese, cottage cheese and shredded cheese--but not mac and cheese! She likes curry and items on rice still. She loves broccoli and steamed carrots, peas, and corn. Scrambled eggs are still a hit just as long as they're not darkened from cooking too long! She likes to get a custard bun from the dim sum shop and likes dumplings because Daniel Tiger has an episode about them. Most of the time, she eats or tries each meal. And of course, fruit salad from Starbucks is a must!

Atley would be happiest to stay home---and watch movies, all day, every day! Most days, I say we're lucky to have a kiddo that sits still for TV...and yet, I battle the request all day! She loves to watch Daniel Tiger, Snow White, Frozen, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Doc McStuffins. Since we can't watch TV alllll day, she also likes to still build castles and restaurants with her Duplos, play restaurant and kitchen, and play princess castle. She loves to dress up and it's so cute to hear her ask Lively if she too, would like to dress up! She loves to color and do crafts and paint--although it's a bit trickier to get her to do these things lately. She likes to do grown up things that Mommy is trying to quickly get done! She also is very content rearranging all decorations in the living room, using a stool to switch on all lights around the house, and will help herself to the sink to pour, fill and spill water :)

Sweet girl still loves characters---little figurines that she can play with and talk for will entertain her for hours! She travels with 'friends' wherever we go and will chat with them in the stroller. She loves her princess dresses and insists on not potty training because they might 'get dirty.' Oh, the challenges of a toddler! She continues to amaze us at how easily she picks up games on the iPad and currently loves to play one where she cooks and serves the food to customers at the restaurant.

Least Favorite Things:
Atley HATES going to bed at night. It's been a tricky scenario and each night it is something different! She has begun to have bad dreams and is scared of shadows, noises and things in her room. She always wants to leave her room but we've prevented that with a baby gate. We do have to have a reward system to keep her quiet--the last thing everyone wants is a toddler that screams for mom and dad until the evening is gone! She also does not like brown bananas or other items that have seasoning on them. She does not like panties! And she does seem to get annoyed when Lively is getting more attention. While moving around town, if someone admires Lively she will often yell at them (they don't speak English) and tell them, "Stop looking at my sister!" Lastly, her least favorite thing to wear is shorts and a shirt (which is often the result of a bad choice--she's not allowed to wear a dress the next day--oh, the horror of shorts!)

-Lately I have snuggled up and told her a story of my childhood before bed--these moments are really fun.

-Was overprotective of Dad near a street--"Daddy, I do not want you to go in the street!"
-Went into a complete panic when Lively was the last one out of the taxi..she kept yelling, "Don't forget Lively, get Lively!"

-the morning 'knock' on our bedroom door (often at 5:15 am!!)
-after many days of reaching inside her dirty diaper, I asked, "Did you poop?" "Yes." "Did you touch it?" and Atley replied, "Not the inside!"

Lovebird's Corner
It's hard to believe we are 3 months into having 2 precious girls! Some days it feels very fast and other days it feels like we're still at the beginning of a trying time! We are so thankful both girls are calm and happy--most all the time. Taylor is wrapping up his last day of school today and we're heading to the States on Monday. I haven't been home for 2 years! This is an odd feeling and yet a reminder that Hong Kong is home, for now. We are looking so forward to catching up with friends and family and meeting all the new babies everyone has been having! I am so thankful and proud of Taylor as he is also taking 2 masters courses this summer--and ending up with his degree in December. He is such a hard-working, non-complaining man--we are lucky to have him! Naptime is over--so that means I am back to work! Hugs to everyone from afar!
