After just getting married, we were given several suggestions to make sure we have a date night, and adhere to it weekly! So, we've have been doing just this. And while it moves around days already, and may involve nothing more than soup on the couch when one of us (seems to frequently be Stacia!) is sick, we thoroughly enjoy the stillness of just resting with each other or conversing over dinner. We've also decided we'd like to celebrate the 27th of every month, at least our first year of marriage, if not every year after! We think it's just another way to remember each other in the busyness of our weeks.
Taylor planned our first date night and since it was the 'first' we went all out--Landry's Seafood! It was soooo yummy!
Since then, we've also spent date nights going out to dinner, making our favorite pizza recipe (let me know if you want it! quick and easy! the pictures below are pepperoni and tostada!), catching a movie/renting one, or this weekend, looking into tattoos!
We also spent a couple weekends (the 2nd to last one in January and 1st weekend of February) taking middle school and high school kids to winter camp. We managed to sleep about 8 hours during the 36 hours we're there. It was a really fun time to hang out with the kids, and each other, in a pretty mountain setting. Here are some of the middle school girls monkeying around--and the two of us taking in the early morning view!
We have also been getting the chance to spend lots of time with Taylor's side of the family--his mom, uncles, etc. have all been in to visit this past month as we spend time with his very special Grandma Barbara. Please keep her in your prayers as she is beginning a new phase/closure of her very impactful life. However, in the midst of all the seriousness lately, of course we need to have a little humor, as well!
Just a picture of us amusing ourselves while waiting in the hospital :)
And lastly, we made time for one of our favorite things to do--go to dinner and a Nuggets game. We went to BD's Mongolian Grill--so good! And sat 7 rows from the floor seats. Yup, the Nugs won! Although it has been a busy, BUSY 2 months, we would not trade it for anything! We are looking so forward to a slower March and maybe, we can get the house 'picture' ready! Stay tuned...
So fun to get a peek into your lives now that you are one. I got tired just reading your blog--ha! Slower March?? I will believe it when I read about it :O)
